Reason to believe: Part I


Simple formula: 3+ year returning starter is 1 pt, 2 year is .75, 1 year is .50, 0 year is .25 and any true freshman starting is 0 points.


The research really reaffirms it -- the '07 ND squad is the youngest Irish team to take the field going back over 40 years. While the defense ranks in the bottom quartile in terms of age, the novice Irish offense is the clear, #1 greenhorn on the list. No team has ever had such an inexperienced two-deep since Ara took over in 1964. The most experienced team using this formula was the 77' Championship squad.
