Pretty disappointed too. NU outplays VT in their own house for 58 minutes (minus the opening kick) and loses on Tyrod Taylor's two best throws of his life---and two meltdowns by the defense. Wish they would've just iced the game by going for it on 4th and 1 from midfield (and I'm not saying that in hindsight either). Offensive play calling was too conservative and Lee struggled in his first road appearance. Having a touchdown taken off the board doesn't help but you have to cash at least one of those red zone opportunities in.

In the end, they had their chances. Need to finish. Gonna be a rough next few days but life will go on.

Craig is the one that called you all idiots

If that was you Craig, why are we idiots? About us saying that NU should've gone for it on 4th and 1? I was thinking it was at mid-field but after reading about it NU was on the VT 37. NU had rushed the ball 24 times in the second half and only TWICE did they not gain more than a yard. Gain a yard and put it away. Not blaming that for why they lost---there were many other chances---but I just wish they had gone for it. Even if they didn't get it VT still had to go 63 yards and score a TD. It's not like NU was trying to keep them out of FG range.

I did not call you idiots. Without watching the game that closely though I can see why they didn't punt considering no one was scoring. But if it was a situation where it was 4th and very short and a team has been running the ball with some success I would have no problem with anybody going for it in that spot.
