Now allow me to address the question of breaking down week ones games.... I will only comment on games I actually watched, which as you can see above was quite a few.....despite what the final score said Bama DESTROYED V-Tech, V-Tech is a joke and got a beat down....I expect Ohio State to show up vs USC this week, I don't put as much stock into the close game vs Navy as some....BYU is legit I think, they were handling OU before Bradford was knocked out. Now I think it would be awesome if OU somehow wins out going 11-1, BYU goes undefeated, there is one team undefeated abd everyone else has 2+ loses, who would go then OU or BYU???......Very surprised by ND's defensive showing, offenese doesn't shock me one bit as I absolutely expect Jimmy to be close to 40 TD's this year. They had 35 points on their first 6 possesions and then they go into jerk off mode which SUCKS for fantasy stats, if they wanted to it sure seemed they could have scored a good 20-24 more points. I think Michigan may beat them this week.....2 coaches who may be job hunting soon, Zooker and Dan Hawkins. Both teams are trash.

frederick are you pro-life or pro-choice, explain

Frederick said...

I am pro-choice. However, I want to make the point that I never have nor will I ever abort a child of mine. It's not for me. But who am I to say what a woman does with her body (besides my wife)? It's not up to me or anybody else to decide whether a female can or can not have an abortion. It's her choice. People need to mind their own business and worry about themselves. There are situations that an abortion may be the way to go. We don't need a bunch of fifteen year old girls/ trailer park bitches / or head case drama queens pushing out babies left and right and making a burden on society and draining the taxpayers money to raise their kids. And then you also have the whole sticky situation of a girl being knocked up by rape.

To sum it up - It's not for me, but I feel pro-choice is the way to go.

fredrick and tick,

name the 3 main issues you really take offense to or disagree with in relation to the Catholic Church.

I'm atheist so pretty much everything.

Praying to me is absolutely worthless. I look at it as no different than throwing a penny into a well and making a wish.

I focus on the here and now as opposed to worrying about what's going to happen when I die by worshipping a guy who died over two thousand years ago.

And I've never understood the whole point of lent. I eat what I want, when I want, thank you very much.

Those things, and a lot of others that I don't have time to go into.

Nice additions to the recruiting class. I thought you guys got rid of Solich and the horrible classes were gone?

How much further is the Tigers' no-huddle spread offense willing to stretch convention? Really, how much can it?

"I think we live in an age where anything goes," quarterback Chase Daniel says. "Whatever is going to work, if it's 11 receivers and no quarterback, you're going to do it. That's obviously very unlikely."

Note he stopped short of "impossible."

Eleven major-college football teams remain unbeaten this season and none have gotten there quite like Missouri, which takes a 5-0 record and its highest ranking in more than a quarter-century — No. 11 — into a showdown Saturday at No. 5 Oklahoma.

Nationwide, the spread is a staple. But few, if any, are as tricked-out as the one run by the Tigers, who'll snap the ball to tight ends and receivers, split out their tackles, leave 8- to 10-yard gaps between all their linemen and, in a typical game, run half a dozen or more trick plays. "Odysseys" as offensive coordinator Dave Christensen calls them.

"A reverse? That's just a normal run for us," Daniel says. "We ran five of those against Nebraska. It's just to keep defenses honest, make them stay home and stay in their gaps."

"When it's all working," says Christensen, the mind behind much of the madness, "it's a ball."

The Tigers simply overran then-23rd-ranked Nebraska last Saturday, piling up 606 yards without a turnover in an historic 41-6 rout. It was their most lopsided win vs. the Huskers since 1947.

Only three teams in the NCAA's 119-member Division I-A (now called the Football Bowl Subdivision) are generating more offense than the Tigers' 556.6 yards a game. They're the nation's best third-down team, converting 10 of 15 against Nebraska and 59% for the season.

Average time of their 31 scoring drives: 2 minutes, 20 seconds.

In the middle of all the histrionics is Daniel, an emerging Heisman Trophy candidate coming off a 401-yard passing, 72-yard rushing, four-touchdown performance against the Huskers.

Listed at 6-0, he's the second-shortest quarterback — to Kansas' 5-11 Todd Reesing— among the nation's two dozen top-rated passers. He ran much the same offense in high school at Southlake (Texas) Carroll, however, and it's second-nature to him. He knows the reads. He has a knack for looking off defenders. With a 67% completion rate and only four interceptions in 223 attempts, he's dead-on accurate.

So would you be able to play football for Notre Dame based on your religious beliefs?

Frederick said...
